Tasting - "Mouton Cadet Bordeaux"

  • Name: Mouton Cadet Bordeaux
  • Variety: Blend
  • Region: Bordeaux
  • Country: France
  • Year: 2010
  • Price: $9.99
  • Winemaker's Notes: Nose: Highly expressive black fruit at first, with touches of toast and fine spice followed by complex fresh fruit aromas that burst from the glass. Palate: Particularly supple and round on the entry, displaying an attractive harmony between silky tannins and the freshness of the fruit on the nose. A hedonistic wine, succulent and richly flavored, that ends with a generous and pleasant, fruit-filled finish.
  • My Review: With a strong smell of dark cherry and plums, this was a very strong and full bodied tasting wine. Some cinnamon and spices coming through on the palate. A finish that came with a lot of tannins and a slight hint of leather. Not hot at all, I would like to have this wine again with some medium-rare steak. I drank this wine while eating pita bread dipped in baba ghanoush.
